Educational Policies, Standards & Procedures

Standards and Procedures are official documents pertaining to the evaluation of student learning. They provide a summary of the evaluation criteria for each subject, and the period during which exams are scheduled.

About Us

Perspectives II offers a nurturing, safe and non-intimidating learning environment in order to foster individual academic success and to help students acquire appropriate social and behavioral skills. The academic approach is designed to help individuals attain academic success, increase self-esteem, achieve self-motivation, inde-pendence and self-reliance in learning. It is designed to provide a structured, stimulating, supportive and stu-dent-centered environment to optimize student learning potential in a small group setting. The program deals with the individual needs and personal development of the student as well as their academic and social needs.

Our Educational Framework

Perspectives II offers courses outlined by the Ministry of Education for Secondary IV and V. Focus is concen-trated on literacy, remediation, and different strategies for reintegration into regular classes. All students have an individual education plan (IEP) and there is ongoing communication with their families.

Our Academic Programs

Transitions Program

  • This program is designed to give students experience in real work environments. Each student in this pro-gram will participate in work placements with a local business. They are expected to work alongside another employee as a helper and/or to be trained to perform tasks in a safe environment.
